BOOK01 Special Edition
A special edition of MANU FABER’s concept book “BOOK01.”
An original 1963 book on Indian classical dance is physically taken apart, with its pages reconstructed as the front and back covers. Each copy is hand-bound using the same sewing thread used in the making of MANU FABER garments.
The book that originally existed as a source of imagery becomes a material in itself and is reconstructed into the physical structure of the book. The process of bringing together elements from different times and places and transforming them into a new form—an approach also found in MANU FABER’s “WHITE”—is extended here to the book as an object itself.
As different pages from the original book are used for each copy, every book has a unique appearance. Produced in a limited edition.
