A concept book by MANU FABER.
Beginning with a 1963 book on Indian classical dance, this book brings together photographs taken in Jaipur, Varanasi, Kolkata, and a small village near the Bangladesh border, alongside Indian printed and embroidered textiles, actual garments, and patterns—images gathered from different times and places.
Existing sources are first absorbed, then combined with elements drawn from different origins and reconstructed into a new form. This process echoes the approach behind MANU FABER’s “WHITE,” translated here into the medium of a book.
A visual expression of the physicality at the core of the brand, where past and present, function and handcraft intersect.
